Event Details

Come on the road with Net Impact’s San Francisco Professional Chapter as we explore the vines, wines, and sustainable practices of Mendocino County.

Because of the unique opportunity to interact with some of sustainable wines best minds, we are keeping this tour small.  We will visit a host of incredible locations not usually available to the public, so grab your tickets now for a behind-the-scenes look at the forces making sustainable viticulture a reality. Stops include:

Talk & Tour with Paul Dolan, Former President of Fetzer Vineyards
Paul Dolan is one of the key leaders of the sustainable wine movement and will lead us on a private tour of Dark Horse Vineyards, the biodynamic operation that is the heart of Paul Dolan Wines. Paul Dolan is a fourth-generation winemaker and will spend the morning with us to share his experience from three decades in the wine industry. Paul wrote the book True to Our Roots: Fermenting a Business Revolution, which describes his journey transforming Fetzer into one of the country’s largest sustainable vineyards.

Tasting at Parducci Cellars
Parducci is America’s first carbon neutral winery and a true leader in sustainable winemaking. We will be visiting the Parducci Cellars tasting room to sample their collection of fine wines. Listen here to KQED’s report on green winemaking, which spotlights Parducci Cellars.

Tour at Rack & Riddle Crush Facility
Come see how wine is really made!  Rack & Riddle is a B2B facility that offers crush & winemaking services to sustainable wineries across Northern California.  We are so excited to have the opportunity to tour of Rack & Riddle—a private facility that is not open to the public.

Tour & Tasting at Terra Savia: Organic Olive Oil Producer & Vineyard
Terra Savia winemaker & Slow Food advocate Jim Milone will lead us on a tour of the Terra Savia estate, where they grow and produce olive oil, organic wine, and wildflower honey. Terra Savia is not usually open the public--don’t miss this unique tour and private tasting!

Cost: An $85 fee includes all transportation, tours and tastings. Transport will be provided by Baurer’s Intelligent Transport and will leave from a location in San Franciso (TBD). Expect a fine assortment of wine-centric movies there and back (likely Mondovino, Bottle Shock, or Sideways). Participants are asked to bring their own brown bag lunch (think picnic in a vineyard!).
